Ingredients to Avoid When Buying Makeup Products

Have you ever checked the ingredients of the cosmetic products you buy? Do you even know that your skin absorbs toxic chemicals when you make use of your beauty and skin care products?

If NO, then you might think of reading this article and avail yourself the opportunity to know more about the ingredients to avoid while applying makeup so as to help you maintain a healthy, fresh, clear and glowing skin!

When choosing cosmetic products, it is important that you read all the necessary information that is mentioned on the product and make sure it does not contain any harmful ingredients that can be really harmful for your body and can be easily absorbed into your skin, causing cellular damage and cancer in the body. Moreover, not all ingredients are BAD, so it is imperative that you choose the ones that do not do any harm to your skin and don’t cause any side-effects or any adverse reactions.

Here are some ingredients that you would like to avoid when buying cosmetic products.

Parabens

These are the preservatives that are widely used for preventing the increase of bacteria, mold and yeast in cosmetic merchandise. They can play an imperative part in causing breast cancers and other harmful allergic reactions like rashes. They can be found in different forms such as methyl, ethyl, butyl, propyl, etc. They can be found in many makeup products, shampoos, perfumes, deodorants, and in various foods like barley, carrots, onions, strawberries, etc.

Phthalates

They are a group of chemicals that are used in thousands of products so as to increase the elasticity and pliability of plastics. The most common phthalates that are used in cosmetics and daily skin care products are:

Di-butyl phthalate: found in nail polish
Diethyl phthalate: found in perfumes and lotions,
and Di-methyl phthalate: found in hair sprays.

Moreover, they can cause health related problems which include damage to kidney/liver, breast cancer, birth defects, decrease in sperm count, birth defects in males and females, and early breast development both in girls and boys.

Triclosan

It is an antimicrobial chemical that can be found in deodorants, soaps, facial tissues, cleansers, antiperspirants, perfumes and tooth-pastes. It is well-known as endocrine disruptor and a skin irritant.

Diethanolamine (DEA) & Triethanolamine (TEA)

Both these ingredients are foam boosters that are skin/eye irritant and causes contact dermatitis. They are also known as emulsifiers and are commonly found in shampoos, soaps, lotions, creams, and other cosmetic products. They are also used as a pH adjuster as they help in neutralizing the acidity of the ingredients. They can cause many problems linked with skin, stomach, liver, and kidney. Also, they may lead to many allergic reactions, eye problems, dryness of hair and skin, skin irritation and much more.

To maintain a vigorous and good-looking skin, it is important that you keep these harmful ingredients in mind so as to buy a natural and healthy product that is not only safe for your skin but also good for your overall health.

Why Young Girls Should Choose ‘Organic Skin Care’

In the short time I’ve been in business offering organic skin care products, I’ve always assumed young girls would not be interested in organic products. I tended to believe women who were 20 years old and beyond would be more interested and more willing to purchase these products than those under 20.

Recently I have spoken with lots of lovely young ladies from 16 – 21 years of age who just love the idea of organic skin care and organic makeup products, but just can’t afford it. I totally understand that. I’ve been there, done that!

Young girls would rather spend their money on shoes, clothes and accessories… of course!

My message to these your ladies has been, although youth is on your side (lucky for them!), it is really important that you know the value of your skin on your overall health.

The fact is, there are just way too many toxic ingredients in mainstream skin care and makeup. So many harsh ingredients that mum’s like me are put off purchasing these products for their daughters. So to all the mum’s out there, we need to educate our young ladies on how dangerous these ingredients are… but not just that… these ingredients offer NOTHING to young OR mature skin.

Going organic provides young skin so many more benefits. A young girl’s skin is sensitive and may suffer from acne and oily skin. A good cleanser and daily moisturiser is ultimately all they need at this point in their life. Some might also benefit from a good body scrub and lip balm for dry lips (oh, how I remember those chapped lips in high school).

And as far as makeup goes, if you want to keep things really simple and inexpensive, then a really good foundation and concealer will help cover up any blemishes.

But really, the list goes on, I could get very excited and go off on a tangent with you and say you need a good mascara and a couple of lipstick shades, and what about an eye shadow? Oh, and your hair? You need a good organic conditioner and hair styling product. Plus don’t forget a quality natural body wash! I remember my mum used to make me use those yucky soap bars. Ewww!

Anyway, I’m sure by now the young girls reading this article get my point. Just please promise me you’ll invest in some good quality organic skin care and organic makeup products.

Cheap Makeup Products For a Bigger World Population

There are so many cheap makeup products that are now in the market as the beauty industry has grown so much in recent years. These new products are cheap in price but are of superior quality just the same.

The population of the world has grown much too and so there are now many women vying with one another in beautifying themselves – to catch the eyes of the men. Almost all girls now learn to use makeup even from a very early age, as the effects of modern TV, and the Internet beauty websites have really impacted on their beauty-consciousness.

Compared to previous generations, women in this modern age are more beauty-conscious, maybe because a man too these days is more discerning on things like the beauty of the woman he could befriend and develop as a girl friend – and even take as a wife later. Even men, desiring to look attractive to the fairer sex also, can make use of the cheap makeup products on themselves.

Research and studies too in the beauty industry have led to the discovery of new beauty formulations including cheap makeup products. These new products are indeed cheap in price, but they are as effective and useful for the beautifying needs of women. The makers of beauty products, like makeup kits, are eyeing also a bigger market – so they have a tendency to bring prices down so many more women can buy the things they need for use in their beautification.

Cheap makeup products are especially made in the countries which have cheaper labor costs in their making.

China, for example, whose population is over a billion, has very cheap labor rates. This in turn results to cheaper products that they make, including the makeup gadgets.

The makers of cheap make up products may have smaller margins on their goods, but the fact that they also increase their sales figures so much, mean more actual profits for them. As long they are able to sell in bigger volumes, their cash registers will surely keep ringing.

Coupled with modern advertising techniques now over the equally modern and wide-reaching media facilities all over the world, the days of the cheap products are surely here to stay – and stay for good.

The new women of the world cannot be disappointed – the makers of cheap makeup kits must cater to their wishes. And they provide the cheap makeup products for them, and make huge dollars along the way.
