Why Young Girls Should Choose ‘Organic Skin Care’

In the short time I’ve been in business offering organic skin care products, I’ve always assumed young girls would not be interested in organic products. I tended to believe women who were 20 years old and beyond would be more interested and more willing to purchase these products than those under 20.

Recently I have spoken with lots of lovely young ladies from 16 – 21 years of age who just love the idea of organic skin care and organic makeup products, but just can’t afford it. I totally understand that. I’ve been there, done that!

Young girls would rather spend their money on shoes, clothes and accessories… of course!

My message to these your ladies has been, although youth is on your side (lucky for them!), it is really important that you know the value of your skin on your overall health.

The fact is, there are just way too many toxic ingredients in mainstream skin care and makeup. So many harsh ingredients that mum’s like me are put off purchasing these products for their daughters. So to all the mum’s out there, we need to educate our young ladies on how dangerous these ingredients are… but not just that… these ingredients offer NOTHING to young OR mature skin.

Going organic provides young skin so many more benefits. A young girl’s skin is sensitive and may suffer from acne and oily skin. A good cleanser and daily moisturiser is ultimately all they need at this point in their life. Some might also benefit from a good body scrub and lip balm for dry lips (oh, how I remember those chapped lips in high school).

And as far as makeup goes, if you want to keep things really simple and inexpensive, then a really good foundation and concealer will help cover up any blemishes.

But really, the list goes on, I could get very excited and go off on a tangent with you and say you need a good mascara and a couple of lipstick shades, and what about an eye shadow? Oh, and your hair? You need a good organic conditioner and hair styling product. Plus don’t forget a quality natural body wash! I remember my mum used to make me use those yucky soap bars. Ewww!

Anyway, I’m sure by now the young girls reading this article get my point. Just please promise me you’ll invest in some good quality organic skin care and organic makeup products.

Improve Your Skin With All Natural Mineral Makeup

Women use makeup to improve their looks but some makeup will also improve their skin. Natural mineral makeup, along with a spritz of neroli oil, will protect and nourish your skin. Because of these qualities, it is an anti-aging makeup as well as makeup that will make your skin beautiful and give it a youthful glow.

Harmful Chemicals in Cosmetics

Everyday you use lotion, makeup, and shampoo without realizing that there are harmful chemicals in them. When a substance is applied to your skin, it is absorbed into your system so it is important to know the ingredients in all our lotions, make-up, shampoos, and other products. Here is a list of some of these chemicals along with some of the possible side effects:

– Paraben preservatives: These will disrupt hormones, mimic estrogen, cause rashes and have been linked to cancers including breast cancer.

– Propylene and Butylene Glycol: Besides causing dermatitis and rashes, these may affect the nervous system, cause brain damage, and affect the structure of cells. Use of these has been linked to cancer.

– Amine family: This family includes amonoethanolamine, diethanolamine, and triethanolamine. These are irritants that can cause allergic reactions, dermatitis and disrupts hormones. They may cause cancer of the liver or kidneys.

– Formaldehyde family: Use of these can cause skin irritation, headaches, and damage to the eyes. These may lead to joint pain, dizziness, tiredness, and problems with your immune system.

– Phthatale family: These chemicals negatively affect the function of your hormones which may lead to early puberty for girls and a reduction in number of sperm. When a pregnant woman is exposed, these chemicals can lead to reproductive problems in a male fetus. They may also lead to birth defects and certain cancers.

All Natural Mineral Makeup Improves Your Skin

Fortunately, natural mineral makeup contains none of the preceding chemicals. It also does not contain fragrance, alcohol, oils, dyes, or talc. There is nothing that will clog your pores or contribute to any skin condition, like acne or rosacea.

Another way that this makeup is good for your skin is it provides a natural sunscreen with SPF 15. This protects your skin from the damaging rays of the sun.

Natural mineral makeup is inorganic so that means that bacteria or other microbes will not flourish in it. This makeup will not irritate your skin or eyes, it will protect you from the sun, and it is a barrier to germs and pollutants in the air.

Makeup Products and Techniques for Dry Skin

Many of us, most of the time suffer from itching and drying once after we apply makeup or our skin care products. The reason behind this is the way our skin gets treated. The first thing you should keep in mind before buying any beauty product is your skin type- Dry, Oily or Combination! You should use products which are specifically designed to cater your skin needs and should nourish it well. While you attempt makeup on your face you must have faced some particles flakes and dryness of your face. The reason behind this is not your skin but the makeup products you use to beautify your features.

Here are some tips for the girls those who have dry skin and get tough time in applying makeup-

1. Exfoliation- this is a common step for all the skin types although the products are different as they are completely dependent on the kind of skin you have. Use a scrub that is cream based and is for dry skin. Get rid of the flaky dead cells before applying makeup. See, what frequency suits your skin type and repeat it regularly. However, exfoliation once a week is often recommended by skin care experts. Lips too, should have an exfoliation regime of their own.

2. Moisturize- Just like the first step this is too is important for all skin types. Since you have dry skin you must make sure that the moisturizer you use must get soaked in your skin. However, don’t go for some greasy formulas as they might clog your skin pores. So for the dry skin, go for a rich and not greasy moisturizer that smooth your skin and nourishes it well. Try ‘Neutrogena’ for dry skin.

Foundation and Primers-make sure to avoid applying several layers of makeup. Therefore, use a light primer and smooth your skin with it. Get a matching foundation dotted all on your face and blend it with a makeup sponge. Don’t use powders as they make you skin dry and give you an older-looking skin. While choosing a foundation make sure you opt for a color that matches your skin tone and is light. You can buy cosmetics online easily and comfortably.

3. Eye Shadows- if you wish to add drama to your eyes, opt for creamy eye shadows and also the eye liner you wish to wear. They avoid tugging your delicate eye lids and give you the look you want. For the rest of your eye makeup, you can use products that you like to wear. Just make sure to use products that don’t act as a catalyst to smudge your well-applied eye makeup.

4. Cheeks and Lips- blush the apple of your cheeks with a cream blush on to give your cheeks the shine they required. Don’t go for powder or gel based blush on as they make your skin look drier. Pamper you lips with a lip balm and then apply lipstick or lip gloss.

Use makeup products that are conceived for your skin type.
